First day I can recall when there was absolutely nothing much of interest in the pipeline here for this “around 0800 feature slot”. I could have looked for some promised baroque music and substituted that or the alternative was to go back through archives … which I have just done, extracting this from Christy:
Now, my main reason, TBH, was to have something or someone nice to look at and listen to as a break from the usual opening two political posts. However, far from being apolitical, Christy was very much political six years ago, now just dealing with and enjoying mothering four growing children.
Interesting to me was that there were two others in the YT sidebar … one by “a historian”, seemed Woke by the haircut, plus one from a “National Library”. Didn’t view, not yet anyway. So, back to the anti-feminist Christy.
She divides the early activists into suffragists and suffragettes, the latter being socialists and wanting women’s votes over any other groups, e.g. black men. Do you think of rioters and looters when I say black men, or do you think of Thomas Sowell?
Anyway, Christy maintains that the vast majority of women did not want the responsibilities of voting in those days, given that they already had a full time coping with the home economy. Interesting, if true. The other two in the sidebar appear to support that though.
As a man, I’m thinking that, rather than go with my male instincts, it might be better to just hear Vhristy out first, minus preconceptions.
Truly clearing preconceptions needs to be teained into us, imho it does not come naturally, even to dissident thinkers. /END for now.
