I used to commute into Moorgate on overground trains which terminated at platforms adjacent to the one involved in the crash. I missed it my a reasonable margin but could have been nearby. Then there was the King’s Cross fire, I missed that by the tiniest of margins. The fire beneath the escalator I was on was well underway. Luckily I went to the lowest platform on the Northern Line and caught what was probably the last train out. I didn’t see any staff to alert and assumed that it would only be moments before the alarm sounded. There is still a feeling of guilt for not doing anything to raise the alarm.
